Plans & execution based on real lived experience from our team

Personalized for your organization

We personalize our accessibility related services to fit your project - The Access Hound research-and-development team has worked with about 200 national parks and other public institutions to train them and their staff members on writing high-quality audio descriptions, primarily for the benefit of people who are blind. The team also specializes in making public places more accessible, in general, including exploring combinations of tactile objects and Audio Description.

That means you talk with us about what you need, specifically, and we give you just that ... nothing more, nothing less.

Example Deliverables

Staff Site Visit 1 Access Hound staff, including the company founder and this project’s manager, Dr. Brett Oppegaard, will spend a day conducting a comprehensive site visit as a way to further develop understandings about your project and to refine the scoping document.

Community Member Site Visit 1, 2, and 3 Access Hound staff will conduct at least three site visits with at least 15 members of the regional community who are DeafBlind, blind, or with low-vision (i.e., 5 American Council of the Blind members per visit X 3 visits). Access Hound will provide transportation and refreshments for these participants while they visit and conduct focus groups, semi-structured interviews, and other types of on-site testing that documents the park visitor’s experiences as a way to gather data to improve those experiences.

Community Member Online Focus Group 1, 2, and 3 Access Hound staff will conduct at least three online focus groups with at least 15 members of the regional community who are DeafBlind, blind, or with low-vision (i.e., 5 American Council of the Blind members per focus group X 3 focus groups). All of these data-collection efforts below will be distinctly oriented toward specific uses for your organization, not generalized solutions.

Community Member Online Survey 1, 2, and 3 Access Hound staff will conduct at least three online surveys with at least 30 members of the national community who are DeafBlind, blind, or with low-vision (i.e., 10 American Council of the Blind members per survey X 3 surveys). Access Hound will use its own open-access software, Access Hound Studio, for the surveys.

An Engagement Plan that will include suggestions for improving each of the key experiences for your organization. This plan also will include all of the data gathered during this planning process, transparent but anonymized, as well as helpful findings and discussion sections intended to help in decision-making processes in the future aimed at prioritizing projects based on community interest, including projects determined to be High Priority / Low Cost, High Priority / High Cost, Low Priority / Low Cost, and Low Priority / High Cost.
